We’ve created an environment that is more than just picking up your favorite flower or grabbing a quick-edible–we made it a full-on experience so you can sit back and relax.
We like to describe our dispensary as a “sensory dispensary.” We want the environment to embrace you, implement a mindset and a feeling as to how cannabis can be explored and enjoyed. Now, let’s get into the nitty gritty about what this really means–and why it matters.
What is a Sensory Dispensary?
You’ve probably seen the word “sensory” tossed around in wellness spaces and maybe even in high-end dining experiences. Here at Ivy Hall, we’ve implemented this term to be intentional. Every element of the dispensary is curated to activate all of your senses: sight, sound, smell, touch–and yes, even the anticipation of taste. Think less white laminate clinical counter, more neighborhood boutique. We’ve created an environment that has become a shopping experience, but also a moment to tune in.
This isn’t your typical sterile wall of jars and product lists. It’s warm wood finishes, natural light, ambient playlists, and displays that will invite you in and give you an opportunity to explore. Whether you’re new to cannabis or a seasoned connoisseur, Ivy Hall was built for our customers to discover the brands rather than overwhelm you with flashy signs.
Now Let’s Break It Down…
Design. When you step into an Ivy Hall location, you’ll notice one thing immediately–it doesn’t feel like your average dispensary. No class cages. No rushed transactions. Instead, you’ll see that the design leans into light, texture, and even local character. We take pride in creating a space that’s welcoming to all individuals in each neighborhood–from Logan Square all the way to Waukegan.
Every shelf and lounge zone is to intentionally create a sense of comfort. It’s the kind of place you actually want to spend time in. Stoners are notorious for being chill, so why not make it a space that could actually be chilled in?
Terpenes. Ever smelled a jar of flower and couldn’t quite place the scent, but it smelled familiar? That would be the good ol’ terpenes at work. At Ivy Hall, we don’t want you to just guess what strains would suit you, so we’ve created sensory bars. This way, you can actually learn about and smell the different strains’ terpene profiles. You’ll start to notice what aromas energize you and which ones calm you, and how to choose based on effect rather than what your neighbor next door recommended.
Playlists. No joke–our playlists are kind of famous. Each store provides a playlist that will get you grooving while you’re shopping and have you pulling out your Shazam. Our playlists are carefully selected to match the vibe of the day, whether it’s laid-back tunes on a rainy Tuesday or warm soul on a sunny Saturday. Music is a huge part of what makes Ivy Hall different, making our great tunes an important part of the whole experience.
Budtenders. Like I said before, the cannabis world can feel intimidating. At Ivy Hall, we want there to be a focus on creating real human connections with our customers. Our budtenders aren’t just there to try and upsell you or rush the process. They’re there to assist you on your journey to finding what is right for you. Think of them as your cannabis concierges. They’ll walk you through all the necessary details into finding what is right for you and your mind.
You will not find pushy salespeople here. You’ll find rather a community of people that genuinely care about your experience and want you to get the most out of your money and experience (cause weed can get pricey, we get it.)
Events. We know how to do these, extremely well. Country music and weed? Who would have thought! We took our sensory experience to Windy City Smokeout, because what goes better with country music and BBQ than a little Ivy Hall energy?
We could even take it down to the mat with a 420-friendly yoga flow. We’ve partnered with Ritual Hot Yoga, creating the ultimate sensory experience. Candlelight, curated playlists, breathwork, and a little bit of stretching–add weed to the mix and you’ll even start integrating this concept into your daily ritual!
